the word classic get s bandied around a lot when talking about certain records, artists, labels etc but rarely is it truly justified. in the case of the monumental slab of nyc deepness that is i ll be your friend we feel the tag is genuinely justified. originally released in 1991 on the rca label the track has been one of house music s most enduring anthems. literally one of the deepest tracks out there, it s combination of owen s vocals paired with the stellar production techniques of def mix s david morales (and those drums) is such a heady combination that the record crossed over so many scenes and to this day remains an evergreen staple in dj s of all persuasions bags. featured here we have all the original mixes (with the exception of the shorter radio edit) in their original forms. the record sounds as fresh as it ever did, the sort of track that never dates and will always fit into a set, the very definition of a classic. legitimately re-released with the full involvement of rca records for 2017 and remastered from the original sources specially for mint condition by london s very own curvepusher. 100% legit, licensed and released. dug, remastered, repackaged and brought to you by the caring folks at your new favourite reissue label - mint condition

joe goddard just had to knock on that door. the wall of his recording studio had been pulsating with original analogue house jams for too long, dry ice practically sifting through the vents. behind that door was gentleman george t, and before long the two heads were nodding to obscure dat edits and 4th hand soul samples as george plundered a wealth of forgotten late 90s dats from of a box in the corner. true story. and now those dat edits, lovingly un-restored, are available for the first time on greco-roman, the record label, party and artist collective of whom hot chip s joe goddard is a founding member.

cambridge resident samuel emerson iliffe, aka ill life, is driven by a penchant for warping things. akin to warping his sonorous surname into the ill life moniker, he warps formely innocuous techno fare into a clangorous, concussive march of living, breathing percussion. samuels sonics seemingly owe a considerable amount to recent innovations from the likes of blawan or perc trax alumni, however his only fault is taking part in the phenomenon of synchronous innovation. before karenn coalesced, before clouds newest offerings started being rinsed, ill life had long since moulded his sound. it is infinite machines infinite regret to have discovered him so belatedly. but there is no use crying over spilled trax.

vom erfolg ihrer analog ep immer noch Überwaetigt, legen alfred heinrichs und carlo ruetz nun mit ihrer zweiten atemberaubenden kollaboration nach. ende juni veroeffentlichen die beiden produzenten auf moonplay records ihre neue ep pretty ill, die wie schon ihre vorgaengerin durch einen minimal technoiden sound auffällt. vorab erscheint pretty ill allerdings als limitierte vinyl-version. auf diese weise wird die neue scheibe nicht nur akustisch sondern auch visuell für jede menge begeisterung sorgen.

voltage musique freut sich mit der katalognummer 50 über das zweite jubiläum in diesem jahr! wer hätte vor 10 jahren gedacht, dass die vier labelmacher gerade 2013 frischer denn je die musikwelt durcheinanderwirbeln und ihre ganz eigenen akzente setzen?! so verspricht auch niemand zu viel, wenn man sagt, dass es die 50 in sich hat. jeweils zwei der voltage-musique-macher haben sich einem gemeinsamen song gewidmet.
